Frithelstock Village Hall

On February 12th 1958 a Special Parish Meeting was held in the Old School to consider the offer of the Clinton Devon Estates to sell the property to the Parish.  The offer was accepted and the Village Hall was opened in May 1961.
The full story of its acquisition, development and notable events can be found in Frithelstock Past and Present - a 224 page heavily illustrated book that is still in print.  See under Publications.
A `50 Club' contributes to the running costs - an activity in which many residents take part. For more information.
The Hall has since been the venue for many local events.  Regular users include the Women's Institute and local skittles teams.  Planning work is in hand to improve the facilities and structure.

A Social night.

It has been suggested that now we have a bar, that once a month (maybe 3rd Friday of each month) a social night would be a good idea for the village. The plan would be to, put up the table tennis tables, set up tables for card or board games, maybe a darts board and of course open the bar.  See the form published in the Prior.

The Bar
From April the hall will be rented out with a staffed and stocked bar, all proceeds from the bar will go back into the maintenance of the hall. We will need a rota of bar staff, the more volunteers we have the less often people will be called on to help. No under 18’s please

See the form published in the Prior.
